This book is awesome and hilarious! I found myself actually reading it in a Seinfeld-like tone even! The pictures are amazing, the book is funny, and my 7 year old son loved it. Basically Jerry is ripping on the crummy things about Halloween. Like how the mask string breaks, you sweat under your costume, some people have terrible tasting candy, etc. The book is very sarcastic so super young children might not get the jokes. It's definitely a great book and we'll be reading it again soon!Product details

My kids’ FAVORITE book! This is probably the 3rd copy I’ve bought! We wear them out.
Jerry nails it again with his creative and funny take on something we experienced as young humans in our culture . A fun read down memory lane for all adults who are kids at heart! Thank you!!
I liked this book because it's funny and it will make kids and adults laugh their heads off on Jerry Seinfeld and his experience with Halloween. I read this book about a thousand times already and it never gets old with the jokes and humor. I recommend this book to anyone out there because anyone will get it if you heard about Jerry Seinfeld.
This cute children's book is Jerry Seinfeld's bit on Halloween and Halloween candy. If you are a Jerry fan, you will love to see the sweet illustrations. If you are a kid, you will relate. We love Jerry, so we got it just for fun and friends who come over that we show it to just love it.
Reading this book brings back the memories I had forgotten about Halloween as a child. The idea that people give away CANDY, misfitting halloween costumes, free CANDY, broken masks or sacks with candy trailing after you and did I mention FREE CANDY!!! Typically Seinfeld grasps it all and the illustrations are wonderful. I bought it for the library and wanted to keep it myself. The children at storytime loved it,(even the older ones). A must read for anyone who has every experienced the joy in trick or treating as a child or a parent!
An hysterical Seinfeldian take on all things Halloween-ish, including masks made with cheap staples and the thinnest rubber bands in the world, disappointing costumes, life's perceived ups and downs and, of course, candy Candy CANDY!!! I'd say this is more a book for parents than kids, more for Seinfeld fans than others, but enjoyable for all. James Bennett's illustrations are Pixar-ish and fall-down funny, filled with comic elements, sly digs and caricaturish facial expressions that perfectly capture one's imagined little Jerry.
On an attached cd, the author reads/performs the book in front of a live audience. I probably would have preferred spending a few dollars less to have just the book, but it is fun to listen to Seinfeld perform the material at least once.
This is a fun book-cd combination, and sure to have the family laughing together.
This book is so typical Seinfeld that even as you read each page you can hear his whiny tone and exageration in each line. The accompanying CD is perfect to play along while you read, and the illustrations are on the money when it comes to capturing the essence of childhood "Halloween frustration." The cartoons look just like him! Jerry spoke to a generation on national television, making us laugh so hard we sometimes cried, and he continues to do so in syndication; now he tickles our funnybones in hardcover too, and our older kids will even enjoy the humor! He tells his own childhood story of how he suffered through horrible homemade costumes and cheezy cheap candy from the neighbors, and what a dream his Superman costume was until the dreaded rubber band on the darned mask snapped and got too tight. True stuff, very real and very funny! This is a must have for any Seinfeld fan.
